Introducing the notes section
A few days ago I added a notes section to this website. The idea is that after researching a specific issue, or after discovering something new, I write it down as a short and straight to the point note. This will increase my understanding of the subject, and function as a reminder to my future self in case the unthinkable happens and my memory fails me.
Notes could perfectly well be written as ordinary posts , but two separate sections will make it easier to distinguish the short notes from the longer and more in-depth posts. Not to mention I usually spend more time thinking about how to write a post than I do actually writing and publishing it. Separating the short notes from the “serious” posts will lower the threshold for writing, hopefully allowing myself to overcome my fear of imperfect content.
The inspiration to this was a post on Hacker News , where the author created a repository with a collection of his notes, grouped by topic. He named his repository “til”, short for Today I Learned.
